You know one of the cool things about being a designer? Sometimes you get to know about new yarns before it’s announced to the public. All those “do you want a secret skein of super secret yarn?” teasers Knit Pick was dropping this month – yep, I knew what it was! Of course one of the downsides is that I couldn’t tell anyone so I just yelled “It’s Mighty Stitch!” at my computer while my kid looked at me like I’d lost my mind.

So… where was I going with this? Oh, right! I knew about the yarn because I was designing a couple of Knit Picks Exclusive free (yep, free!) patterns using the Mighty Stitch Bulky and Mighty Stitch Super Bulky yarns.
First up – did you snag one of those aforementioned “secret skeins of super secret yarn?” Well if so – check out the Ski Bunny Headband. It uses exactly one skein of Mighty Stitch Super Bulky – no leftovers. How, you may ask? Magic. Or pompoms. Or magic pompoms. Just download it – it’s free.

And second – the Snowfall Ski Hood uses two contrasting colors of Mighty Stitch Bulky. This one used Silver for the hood and Sky for the pompoms but get crazy with some of the super bright colors like Pucker or Macaw and make a hat they can spot from space.

I can’t wait to see all the beautiful cozy projects made in this squishy yarn – *cough* make a Ravelry project page so I can see them *cough* here: Ski Bunny Headband and here: Snowfall Ski Hood.
